サンフランシスコ旅行財団
観光業は依然としてサンフランシスコの第一の産業であり、私たちはそれを維持していくつもりです。
そのため、2003 年 5 月、元理事長ロバート ワーベ氏のリーダーシップ ギフトによりサンフランシスコ旅行財団が設立されました。ホスピタリティ業界の勢いを支えるというビジョンを掲げる財団のビジョンは、教育と機会を通じてサンフランシスコの若者を豊かにすることです。独立した関連団体である非営利の 501(c)(3) 組織として、財団は地元の大学でホスピタリティ管理プログラムに在籍する地元の学生に奨学金を提供することで将来の業界リーダーを育成し、コミュニティに観光業界関連の教育プログラムを提供しています。

基礎プログラム
会員イベント
毎年、私たちのカレンダーには、会員のための教育とネットワーキングの機会がぎっしり詰まっています。地元企業が訪問者と会議の市場での地位を活かすための独占的なプラットフォームであることに加え、私たちは可能な限り財団を組み込むようにしています。ネットワーキング ナイトやその他の教育セミナーなどのイベントは、地元の学生に必要な資金を数千ドル提供してきました。
年次会合
この年間最大のイベントでは、財団のために 20,000 ドル以上が集まっただけでなく、市内で最も影響力のある業界リーダーの前で、個人や組織に名誉あるシルバー ケーブルカー賞とクリスタル ブリッジ賞を授与する場にもなっています。
奨学金
ホスピタリティ業界でのキャリアを目指す地元の学生に奨学金を授与することは、財団の使命の要です。2006 年以来、サンフランシスコ トラベルの元社長兼 CEO にちなんで名付けられたジョン A. マークス奨学金は、勤勉さ、観光業界への献身、サンフランシスコへの愛情で際立った学生に授与されています。
2022 年に、デール ヘス ホスピタリティ優秀奨学金制度が発足しました。デール ヘスは、サンフランシスコ トラベルで 30 年以上にわたりマーケティングおよび広報の幹部職を務めてきました。
About John A. Marks
In 1987, John A. Marks was appointed President & CEO of the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau (SFCVB), now known as the San Francisco Travel Association. During his tenure, John also served in a voluntary capacity in leadership roles with every major hospitality association in the U.S. In 1999, John received ASAE’s Key Award, the highest award in association management. He received the Peter Goldman Award of Excellence in 2005 from the Hotel Council of San Francisco. John retired in 2006 and lives with his wife, Marty, in Tucson, AZ.
About Dale Hess
Dale joined the staff of the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau (SFCVB) in 1971 and retired in 2005 as executive vice president, after a distinguished career in the hospitality industry. His endeavors ranged from the Save the Cable Cars initiative to Super Bowl XIX. Among Dale’s proudest achievements were the opening of The Moscone Center and guiding recovery efforts after the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989. Dale passed away in the spring of 2022. The Dale Hess Excellence in Hospitality Scholarship was established to honor his decades of inspirational leadership and championship of San Francisco.
About Joe D'Alessandro
Joe D'Alessandro is the former longtime President and CEO of San Francisco Travel, where he played a pivotal role in promoting San Francisco as a premier global travel destination. With extensive experience in the tourism and hospitality industries, Joe led efforts to increase tourism and drive economic growth. Under his leadership, SF Travel became a key player in the broader tourism sector, contributing significantly to the local economy and fostering strong partnerships within the travel and hospitality industries. The Joe D’Alessandro Scholarship recognizes recipients for their innovation and leadership in the field.
